Growing up in Gujarat, I was surrounded by women who carried themselves with grace — my nani in her crisp cotton sarees, my mother in soft silk Anarkalis, my cousins in playful tie-dyes for every Navratri. Fashion was never a luxury at home. It was language. It was love.

But as I grew older, I noticed something strange. The ethnic-wear racks were full — and yet most women I knew settled. Either the embroidery was beautiful but the cut didn’t fit. Or the silhouette was right but the fabric scratched. Or the colour was wrong, or the price impossible, or the size simply not made.

I trained as a fashion designer because I refused to accept that compromise. Why should a woman in size XL not get the same hand-embroidered Anarkali her petite cousin can pick off any rack? Why should beautiful ethnic wear feel out of reach?

House of NYSA was born from those questions. A studio-led label where every Anarkali, kurta, sharara and co-ord is designed with intention — for the woman who wants to feel put-together at a Sunday brunch, the bride’s cousin who refuses to wear something she’ll only wear once, the new mom who deserves to feel beautiful again on a regular Tuesday.

We’re small. We’re personal. We answer every WhatsApp message ourselves. And we promise that every piece you receive from us has been picked, stitched and packed as if we were styling our own sister.
